Customers

If your work is for different customers or clients, you can record who each task is for. Customers are set per project, so each project keeps its own list. For Sam, Northgate SoW 3 might list Northgate, while Vendor onboarding lists Corvel.

Add customers to a project

  1. Open the project's edit window (on Manage projects, choose the pencil on its card).
  2. Under Customers/Clients, type a name and press Add (or Enter).
  3. Press Save Changes.

Set the customer on a task

In the task window, open Customer/Client and pick one from the project's list. You also have two other options:

  • + Add new customer adds a name to the project's list and picks it for this task, so it's there next time.
  • Other (one-time name) lets you type a name just for this task, without adding it to the list.

If you move a task to a different project, its customer is cleared, since each project has its own list.

Switch customers off

Not every project needs customers. Sam's PMO project is internal work, so there's no one to record.

  1. Open the project's edit window.
  2. Turn off Enable Customer Field.
  3. Press Save Changes.

The Customer/Client field then disappears from that project's tasks. Customers are on for new projects until you turn them off.

Use customers to sort your work

  • Board: set Group by to Customer to see each column split by customer.
  • Filter: choose + Filter, then Customer, to show only one customer's tasks. Or click the customer's name on any Board card.
  • All Tasks: sort or filter by the Customer column.
  • Search: searching for a customer's name finds their tasks too.
