The daily digest

The daily digest is one message a day with the tasks that need you. It's a good way to start the morning without opening Trackli first. You can get it by email, as a Slack message, or both.

Turn it on

  1. Open Settings from your account menu, then Notifications.
  2. Under Daily Digest, in Delivery Channels, turn on Email, Slack, or both.
    • Email goes to the address you sign in with.
    • Slack arrives as a direct message. You need to connect Slack first in Settings, then Integrations. Until you do, the switch says Connect Slack in Integrations.
  3. Under Schedule, choose the hour in Send digest at.

The time zone the digest uses is shown in brackets next to the hour.

What's in it

Each digest lists, in this order:

  • Unblocked: tasks that were blocked until a date, have come back, and nobody has picked up yet. They come first so they don't get lost. A task in this section isn't repeated under Overdue or Due Today.
  • Overdue: tasks past their due date that aren't done.
  • Due Today
  • Due Tomorrow
  • Assigned to You: up to five open tasks someone else has assigned to you in a shared project.

Done and archived tasks are left out, and so are tasks in archived projects. Each digest ends with a link to open Trackli.

If there's nothing to show (ex: a quiet Monday with nothing due), Trackli doesn't send a digest that day. You only get one when there's something in it.

Choose what's included

Once Email or Slack is on, Include in Digest lets you switch parts off:

  • Task reminders: the Unblocked, Overdue, Due Today and Due Tomorrow lists.
  • Task assignments: the Assigned to You list.

Tips

  • The Email and Slack switches here are also what task reminders use. See Task reminders before turning both off.
  • Pick an hour just before you usually start, so the digest is waiting for you (ex: 8:00 AM).
  • Trackli sends at most one digest a day.
