Slack

If your day runs through Slack, you can add tasks to Trackli without leaving it, and have Trackli message you there instead of (or as well as) by email.

Connect Slack

  1. Open Settings from your account menu and go to Integrations.
  2. Find Slack and choose Connect.
  3. Slack asks you to allow Trackli into your workspace. Check it's the right workspace and allow it.

Back in Trackli, the Slack card shows Connected to and your workspace name.

Add a task with /trackli

Type /trackli followed by the task in any Slack message box. For example:

/trackli Chase Corvel for DPA comments Vendor onboarding by Friday

Trackli replies with what it created: a task called Chase Corvel for DPA comments in Vendor onboarding, due Friday. Only you can see the reply.

  • Dates: today, tomorrow, a day of the week (ex: Friday), a date like 14 Nov, or a numeric date such as 14/11
  • Project: include the project's name anywhere in the message, exactly as it's spelled in Trackli (capitals don't matter)

If Trackli can't find a project name in your message, the task waits in your Inbox under From email so you can pick a project and add it. See Email to task for how the review works.

Other commands

  • /trackli today lists what's in your My Day
  • /trackli summary shows how many tasks are overdue, due today, in My Day and critical
  • /trackli help shows the list of commands

Get messages in Slack

Once Slack is connected, Trackli can send you direct messages:

  • Your daily digest. Open Settings, Notifications, and under Daily Digest turn on Slack in Delivery Channels. See Daily digest.
  • Task reminders. Reminders you set on a task come through Slack too, when Slack is turned on. See Task reminders.

Disconnect

Go to Settings, Integrations and choose Disconnect on the Slack card. Tasks you've already added stay in Trackli.

Tips

  • Short project names are easier. Typing PMO is quicker than a long name, and it has to match exactly.
  • Trackli only asks Slack for what it needs: to see who you are, run the command and send you messages.
