Chrome extension

The Trackli extension for Chrome lets you capture a task from whatever page you're on, without switching tabs. It's useful for things like a Jira ticket, a shared document or an article you need to come back to.

Install it

  1. In Trackli, open Settings from your account menu and go to Integrations.
  2. Find Chrome Extension and choose Install. This opens the Chrome Web Store.
  3. Add the extension to Chrome. Pin it to your toolbar so the Trackli icon is always in reach.
  4. Click the Trackli icon and sign in with Google or with your email and password.

Add a task from the toolbar

  1. Click the Trackli icon, or press Alt+Shift+T (Option+Shift+T on a Mac).
  2. Choose Quick Add Task.
  3. Type the Task title, pick a Project and add a Due date if it has one.
  4. Tick Include page URL to save a link to the page with the task.
  5. Tick Add to My Day if you want to work on it today.
  6. Choose Create Task.

Add a task with a right-click

Right-click on a page or a link and choose:

  • Add to Trackli to start a task for that page
  • Add to My Day to start a task that goes straight into My Day

If you've selected some text, choose Add to Trackli with selection. The text you selected is added to the task's notes, which is handy for keeping the exact wording of a request.

After you right-click, Chrome shows a note that the task is ready. Click the Trackli icon to check it and create it.

See your tasks

Choose My Tasks in the extension to see what's Overdue, what's in My Day and what's Due Today. You can tick a task off from there, or open it in Trackli.

Working offline

If you lose your connection, you can still add tasks. The extension shows Offline with the number of tasks waiting, and sends them to Trackli as soon as you're back online.

Tips

  • Open the full app with Open Trackli app at the bottom of the extension.
  • Change the shortcut in Chrome at chrome://extensions/shortcuts if Alt+Shift+T clashes with something else.
  • For tasks that start in your inbox, email to task is often quicker.
