Offline and on your phone

Is there a phone app?

There's no Trackli app in the App Store or Google Play. Instead, Trackli works in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens full screen like an app.

  • iPhone or iPad: open gettrackli.com in Safari, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android: open it in Chrome, open the menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.

There's more, including installing on a computer, in Install Trackli as an app.

How Trackli works on a phone

Trackli is the same app on every device, laid out for a smaller screen:

  • Tabs along the bottom: My Day, Board, Calendar and All Tasks. Your avatar opens the rest, including Settings.
  • Board: one column at a time. Use the status tabs at the top to switch between Backlog, To Do, In Progress and Done.
  • Calendar: the week view shows three days at a time. Swipe to move along.
  • All Tasks: tasks show as cards instead of a table.
  • Drag and drop is off, so it doesn't get in the way of scrolling. Change a task's status or dates in the task window instead.

Your tasks are the same everywhere, so anything you add on your phone is on your computer straight away.

Does Trackli work offline?

Not really. Trackli needs an internet connection to load and save your tasks.

The app itself can open without a connection, but it doesn't keep a copy of your tasks on your device. If you lose your connection while Trackli is open, a banner at the top says You're offline. While you see it:

  • Hold off on adding or changing tasks until you're back online.
  • Once you're connected again, the banner goes away. If something you did just before doesn't show, refresh the page and check.

Tips

  • If your connection is patchy (ex: on a train), quick add a task as soon as you have signal and fill in the details later.
  • The Chrome extension can hold tasks you capture while offline and add them when you're back online.
